At 25, Divyanshi (name changed) had lived her life constrained by spastic quadriplegia, yet her spirit remained unbreakable. Reliant on her wheelchair with limited limb control, she arrived at Unmish facing significant mobility obstacles.
Her therapy centered around enhancing hand functionality and core stability. Although her hand grip had been quite weak initially, she now experiences progress consistently.
The pivotal moments emerged when she was able to stand with minimal support — defying expectations and regaining independence she once deemed unattainable.
She now utilizes her hand for everyday activities and stands with minimal assistance.

Jibrael, a young child of 2 years, struggled with speech, behaviour, and motor abilities when he entered Unmish with his parents.
With constant support, patience, and guidance from our therapists, Jibrael gradually started making impressive progress. His speech improved, enabling clearer self-expression, and his behaviour became more manageable.
He made considerable progress in motor abilities, giving him more confidence to tackle previously challenging tasks.
His accomplishments serve as a source of motivation for everyone at Unmish.

Early Intervention and Family Support

Avyan's Story

When 21-month-old Avyan was first brought in, his parents were concerned about speech problems. We found him to have traits of mild autism with severe behavioural issues including frequent head banging and self-harm.
His parents became active partners in his development, teaching him strategies based on his home protocol. Over time, Avyan's head-banging incidents decreased and his charming smile became more noticeable.
He developed communication skills and is now attending a mainstream school.

Five-year-old Abir once dreaded every movement. He was apprehensive about various surfaces, reluctant to walk, and experienced muscle weakness.
Through regular therapy sessions focusing on sensory integration, strength building, and boosting confidence, Abir's advancements have been astounding.
He now walks confidently and enjoys playing in the park like all the other kids.

Hanifa, an energetic young girl, faced difficulties with communication and social interactions, often struggling to convey her thoughts and connect with others.
Through therapy, she discovered effective methods to share her emotions. Occupational therapy enhanced her motor skills and coordination, enabling greater independence in daily activities.
Through therapeutic interventions she learned to communicate with gestures and gradually overcame her inhibition, starting to interact with ease.
Hanifa achieved significant improvements in communication and independence.
